Vinho Verde - Monção & Melgaço
A tour towards the Vinho Verde region, cradle of some of the freshest and lightest wines in Portugal.
After a 2h trip, we will arrive at the region of Monção/Melgaço to visit Soalheiro. This winery, a pioneer in the creation of Alvarinho wine in Melgaço, represents an international benchmark for the wines using this grape variety, blending perfectly into the distinctive Minho landscape that surrounds it. They have been investing in wine tourism in the recent years, showcasing the high quality of their award-winning wines.
After this enlightening visit, we will take a break to recover our energies in a family restaurant, which has been showing off the authentic flavours of Portuguese cuisine since 1991. It was once the home of the current owner’s grandparents, where today you can taste their well-preserved recipes.
In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit the superb 18th century Brejoeira Palace, classified as a national monument. While inside, we will gaze at several rooms decorated in the neoclassical style. Outside the palace, we will also be amazed by the magnificent gardens within this fabulous property.
By the end of this visit, there will be an opportunity to taste one of their own brand wines or brandies.
The return trip will take 2h, during which time you will be able to relax in the comfort of the Tesla.

12h30 – Lunch at “Adega do Sossego” - lamprey (seasonal), roasted Lamb, Veal, Codfish
15h00 – Visit to Palácio da Brejoeira (Monção) with optional tasting
