Portugal EV Tours first came to life in early 2018. This project is the result of an immense love for Douro Valley and wanting to share it, with, at the same time, the awareness of preserving the region and lowering our carbon footprint while visiting it.

Built upon the sustainable tourism and transportation motto, we chose 100% electric vehicles that were able to accommodate small groups for exclusive and luxurious experiences – Tesla.

Portugal EV Tours is the first – and thus far the only – company to offer wine experiences in the Douro Valley, as well as in other wine regions, using electric vehicles. And by using only fully electric vehicles, we are saving the environment from 80kg / 176lbs of CO2 emissions in each trip to the Douro Valley!

Portugal EV Tours creates unique experiences, such as the Douro Valley – Wine and Stars, a night sky observation experience combining wine tastings, gastronomy and astronomy. With this experience, launched in 2019, we became the only tour operator to host a night-time experience in the Douro Valley. In the following year the Douro Valley, specifically the Tua region, was recognized as a Dark Sky Reserve, further validating our knowledge and understanding of the valley.

Although our main activities are based in the Douro Valley, they are not exclusive to the region. We provide other services such as transfers and wedding transportation.

Portugal EV Tours has adopted all safety measures regarding cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation, which allows us to be recognized as a Clean & Safe entity by Turismo de Portugal (Portugal Tourism Office) and also a Safe Travels entity by the World Travels & Tourism Council.
